Bystronic Announces Kevin McAllister as President, Region Americas

Bystronic, a global leader in sheet metal and material processing solutions, has announced the appointment of Kevin McAllister as President, Region Americas, effective January 1, 2026.

McAllister succeeds John-Paul Surdo, who departed the company at the end of 2025. In his new role, McAllister will report directly to Bystronic CEO Domenico Iacovelli and will serve as a member of the company’s Top Management Circle.

McAllister, a dual Canadian - U.S. citizen, brings extensive executive leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, sales and marketing, and global operations. He joins Bystronic from ANDRITZ Schuler, the world’s largest manufacturer of presses, where he served as President of Schuler North America for seven years. During his tenure, the organization achieved record sales and profitability. Prior to ANDRITZ Schuler, McAllister spent more than two decades at ABB, holding senior leadership positions across global and regional operations.

“Kevin’s proven leadership, customer-centric approach, and deep industrial expertise make him an outstanding addition to Bystronic,” said Domenico Iacovelli, CEO of Bystronic. “His experience strengthening sales organizations and operating across diverse markets will be instrumental as we continue our growth in the Americas region. He will play a key role in the integration of our recently acquired Bystronic-Rofin business, which adds new laser technologies to our portfolio and expands our market base to exciting growth industries like medical technology and semiconductors.”

McAllister holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada, and an Executive Leadership degree from IMD in Switzerland.

“I am honored to join Bystronic at such an exciting time,” said McAllister. “Bystronic has an exceptional reputation for innovation and customer partnerships. I look forward to working with our teams and adding value to our customers across the region.”
