TAB Industries Celebrates Opening of Quality Control Laboratory

Metalworking manufacturer TAB Industries, LLC, Reading, Pa. (www.tabindustries.com), recently celebrated the unveiling of its dedicated quality control laboratory. The new, in-house laboratory features a slate of advanced and traditional testing, measurement, and inspection equipment to ensure the metalwork, parts and products meet exacting specifications. The fully equipped laboratory includes a new Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for automated, 3D analysis of high volume parts; a portable comparator for 2D inspections; calibrated height gauges with a certified granite surface table; and a variety of calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and accessories to properly verify the dimensions of a diverse range of metallic parts and materials.

A core element in the company's recent facility expansion, the quality control laboratory strengthens and streamlines the quality testing and inspection functions under a team of dedicated, highly skilled lab technicians. Quality testing and first article inspections (FAI) for large production runs are integrated in the workflow at pre-planned stages throughout the production process before delivery is approved.
