Delta was contracted to install a Schuler press foundation for a client in Kentucky. The sequencing and schedule were crucial in order to meet the press delivery schedule. Despite ongoing design changes that added complexity to the project, the project management and field teams effectively managed and implemented these changes while maintaining the schedule. A key factor in achieving this was Delta’s ability to fabricate the steel embeds and promptly deliver them to the site as changes occurred. Apart from the press foundation, Delta also installed a structural deck, trenches, waterproofing, press sole plates, 1” steel fit-up plate, stairs and guardrail, and approximately 20,000 SF of slab on grade. The project was completed with ample cure time for the press to be installed as planned.
