EMH, Engineered Material Handling, recently broke ground on a new 24,000-foot manufacturing expansion at their headquarters in Valley City, Ohio. The additional space and facility will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity and production speed, while enhancing manufacturing quality and efficiency.
According to David Comiono, VP and co-owner, “This fourth and newest addition to our world headquarters and North American manufacturing facility will increase our capacity and enable us to build multiple crane systems at one time. Right now, we have the capacity to build 2 or 3 cranes that are up to 80, 90, or 120-feet long at one time. With this new expansion, we will have the capacity to build 4, 5, or even 6 cranes at the same time.”
With increased capacity and capability, EMH Crane also plans to purchase and add a new sandblaster with multiple heads to sandblast more complicated shapes twice as fast, as well as a new gantry seam welder for welding larger seams on box girders. The $2 million dollar facility is expected to be open and functional by the end of the year.
For its newest expansion, EHH Crane has once again partnered with Campbell Construction for design and construction. Campbell, with offices in Wadsworth and Wooster, Ohio is a full-service design build general contractor known for its commitment to exceptional facility design and construction excellence. The Medina County Economic Development Corporation added assistance and community reinvestment area incentives for the project.
